fast and busy
Warehouse Op / Goods In Admin (Former Employee), Burnley – May 13, 2013
Pros: great employees
Cons: bad organisation
My review of The Original Factory Shop, I like working there because they offered new roles and allowed employees to progress, some management were fantastic to work with and some were not. The supervisors there were very good and approached problems very well, I mainly enjoyed the other employees as most were highly trained in specific roles and if – more... you had a problem you knew who to go to, to solve it. – less

Pros: the discounts

fun place to work, nice people to work with, everyday is different, one day you might be on the till, the next day you'll be working on the shop floor replenishing shelves.

Great company to work for
Supervisor (Current Employee), Bargoed – February 19, 2013
Pros: 20% staff discount, various incentive sales comeptitions
Cons: not enough hours
I started with little experience in retail when I was offered a sales assistant job at the original factory shop. Within two weeks I was promoted to Supervisor as management felt I had shown a great amount of potential. I have obtained a good amount of experience and learned a great deal of the retail industry whilst working for the company. We work – more... together as a team to try and achieve the best results possible. I enjoy the responsibility and pressure that comes with my job as it keeps me on my toes. – less

Fun work place.
store worker (Former Employee), A64 York – January 10, 2013
Pros: i loved knowing that i can achieve things in life i just have to try.
Cons: distance form where i live.
My previous job I worked 40 hours a week, full time 9-6:30 Monday to Friday. I learned my skills on how to use a till, i did cleaning, helping customers find what they needed, put stock out when needed. The hardest part of my job was how far away it was, with it been on the A64 and getting there as I live near York City Centrer. The best part of my – more... job was the experience. – less

Good workplace
Temporary stock assisstant (Former Employee), Welling, London – November 29, 2012
Pros: discount voucher
Cons: long hours and no break unless you ask
A typical day would be tagging shoes and labelling the clothes, "covering up"/ hanging clothes up on the rail. Tidying up the store. It was intresting to experience working in a store, interacting with customers. The staff were vey nice towards me. The hardest part of the job was nothing. The most enjoyable part of the job was labelling and tagging – more... items. – less

Productive yet fun working environment with great staff
Sales Assistant (Former Employee), Cleethorpes – November 26, 2012
A typical day consisted of coming into work, getting your bearings and then straight off working either at the checkout, arranging the stock room or distributing the stock onto the shop floor.

I learnt a lot about the value of team work and that you can never be too nice or social with both Co-Workers and Customers.

I was lucky enough to be working – more... with a great team of people, you knew exactly who you superiors were and understood that they're people you can talk to, have a laugh with and that when it came down to it work hard for.

I would say the hardest part of the job was the busiest days (bank holidays etc) because the shop becomes flooded with customers and I needed to learn quickly the best way to be resourceful with what needed to be done simultaneously.

Other than that I genuinely enjoyed each other part of the job because more importantly I enjoyed working and being part of such a great team of people. – less

Enjoyable place to work
Sales Assistant (Current Employee), Fraserburgh – September 24, 2012
Pros: my collogues and the public
Cons: not enough hours.
Going into work and checking into work and having a general catch up and update on what is being happening sales wise in the store against other stores and seeing where we need to improve our sales at, i have learned how to re merchandise a store as went away from the store i work in for training. Management at that store are very helpful always keep – more... you updated and always there if you have any questions or inquires. my co worker are a bunch of amazing people they accept and take you in and you get treated like family more than work colleges always helping eachother out, the hardest part of the job? i wouldnt say there is a hard bit cause we all help eachother out to get through things, the most enjoyable bit would have to be the people i work with and getting on with the public so well and getting to know them. – less

productive and a fun workplace.
Christmas temp (Former Employee), Wigton – July 26, 2012
Pros: meet new friends
Cons: loads of stock to unload
A typical day at work was unloading the stock, cleaning the shop floor, dealing with customers needs/problems. I have learned how to unload stock and how to keep the shop floor nice and clean. The management was very friendly and helpful when I was unsure on what job I was doing. My co-workers were very friendly and warm welcoming. They helped me when – more... I was stuck with my job and they were nice to work in a team with. The hardest part of the job was trying to get most of the stock out during the last week of Christmas and all of the customers were asking for help. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with friends and getting my job done in time. – less

A typical day would be stacking the shelves, Helping customers, Making sure the shop was tidy.
I picked up better customer service skills.
My co-workers were what made the job better they were understanding and you were able to have a good laugh as well as hard work.
The hardest part of the job was when delivery day came, Trying to get all the stock – more... out on the shop floor.

– 18 September 2012

a very hard company to work for, i am hoping to leave very soon after working for them for 3 and half years, physically very demanding with so much pressure put upon myself and my co workers, no incentive for the staff to progress any further, management very weak and not professional to their staff, the only plus is i have made some very good friends, good banter the only thing that helped me through at times ... dreadful pay for what they expect staff to have do deal with ... the shop where i worked was so unbearably hot that customers and staff would be near to collapse... no action taken by head office and told get on with it!! no matter how much you tidied and tried to merchandise the stock .... customers would trash the place ... again and again!! cant wait to leave .. do not work for this awful company

Dependiente (Current Employee), Reino Unido – October 5, 2012
– less
