Typical day at work would be to clean and tidy the store and make everything look presentable before the store opened. Greet customers in a friendly mannor, help any customers that had and queries or questions. Keep the store clean and tidy throughout the day.

poor management
Christmas Casual Retal assistant (Former Employee), Penrith – April 28, 2013
I did not have a good experience working at Cotton On Body, The management was very unprofessional and has very poor communication between team members, I was told from another Cotton On Store member that the Saturday coming was my last day, as she had been told by my manager. I was very upset that my manager had been discussing this with others so – more... I left. On the up side the team members were hard workers and very helpful, and I also enjoyed the fast past environment. I was always busy and kept on my feet. – less

Fun atmosphere
Key Holder (Former Employee), Austin, Texas – April 27, 2013
Pros: great music and awesome clothes
Cons: poor management
Perform opening duties, clean store, merchandise, customer transactions, up sale, promote charity items, perform EOD duties, balance registers

I learn how to manage others and how to run a retail store. The management was lacking, my co-workers were very hard working and always positive. The hardest part of my job was not having enough staff and not – more... being managed well. The most enjoyable part of my job was being able to make visual merchandising decisions. – less

I enjoyed working in a busy environment
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Wellington, FL – March 21, 2013
Pros: 50% off discount
Cons: the job was a seasonal job
I would go in put all my belongings in the locker. Then I would go upfront and work in my area fixing and organizing everything making sure my zone was clean and covered.
My co-workers were loving I enjoyed working with them

Ridiculously High Expectations
key holder (Current Employee), FL – March 18, 2013
Pros: good pay, good discount
Cons: all blame on employees, understaffed, few hours, too much responsibility, short deadlines
I would gladly settle for getting little to no recognition for what I do versus being blamed for things that are more strongly influenced b external forces. If numbers aren't satisfactory, they assume you made no attempt to add on products or assist customers. KPI expectations are the same on Black Friday as they are on a random Tuesday in October. – more... One of the biggest rules to to always have someone in the front of the store, but many times only one person is on the schedule at a time; during audits we have been counted against for working on a task that must be done out of that zone (ex. straightening up racks of clothes in the back of the store). Refunds, voids, and low sales (even in cases where you can see a customer counting coins to cover the last few dollars of their current total) count against employees and performance satisfaction. If a customer cannot find what they need because it is out of stock or not carried at all, or they change their mind on wanting an item, it does not mean the employee is not performing their job. – less

Fun and exciting place to work
Key Holder (Current Employee), Norfolk, VA – March 5, 2013
Cons: there are no benefits for part-time associates.
Great company with great values. A typical day can go by extremely fast or extremely slow depending on the day of the week. Weekends are generally my favorites because so many people come in and out of the store and I am constantly on my toes. The management at my store is awesome. The only thing I do not like is we haven't had a stable DM, there has – more... been a new one about every 6 months. The job is fairly easy. I love interacting with people. – less

YYYYYYY – 22 April 2013

They over work the employee's if you're expecting a raise is not going to happen, i know employee's that have not received a raise for 5 years, and if do you will get about .40 cents, Employee's are over worked up 14 hours a day and only one day off, Plus if you call in sick thats not even enough of a excuse for them, they insult you with profanity language, you cannot sue the company cause they make you sign a contract that you can, I know cause i worked for this company and IN QUIT" Please don't work this for this company unless you like PAIN

Sales Associate (Former Employee), Miami, FL – February 22, 2013
multi-tasking was the most important asset at this job. I learned that I could do much more at once than I thought I could. My co-workers and I got along extremely well.

Typical retail
Senior Key Holder / Retail Supervisor (Current Employee), Brandon, FL – January 22, 2013
Not satisfied with the way the company is ran. Typical day as work is stressful and not as considerate amongst employees. Learn that the company is only for the company and not the advancement of the employees professional morals. Management can be a little better at communication. Co-workers are amazing and can all learn from one another. The hardest – more... part of the job is not being appreciated for your hard work. The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing customers happy. – less

Interactive
Seasonal Floor Sales Associate (Current Employee), Pensacola, FL – January 14, 2013
Pros: the work environment
Cons: not being able to communicate with co-workers.
This job is requires a lot of communication and paying attention to details. A typical day at work is interacting with customers one on one, restocking store merchandise, and cleaning your work area and facility. The exciting thing about this job is being to help to someone. The most difficult thing is not having a specfic item in-stock or available – more... for a customer. – less

Only fun when you first start working there!
Sales Associate (Former Employee), San Diego, CA – January 10, 2013
Cons: low pay, favorites among employees
Getting hired on as seasonal will most likely be one of your better chances of working for the company. Job advancement is there if they like you and do your job. I would never work there again and it's hard to get a pay raise if you want it, even if you've worked there for over a year. It's almost really fake; nice on the outside, but on the inside – more... it's just as crooked as anything else. – less
