Quiet relaxed workplace but inadequate pay.
Sales Assistant (Former Employee), Caldicot, Gwent – February 11, 2013
Pros: weekend hours fitted around my education, still allowed for a social life, everyone was friendly and welcoming.
Cons: continued to be taxed on minimum wage and was annoying to continuously demand tax rebates, therefore the pay was inadequate to the duties i carried out and the hours which i worked.
I use to work Saturdays and Sundays within the company, but use to alter the days every other week. If I was working Saturdays then I would mainly be on tills, where I was trained to serve the customers which came into the store. I also had to carry out stock checks and organise it within the store. If I was working Sundays then I would clean the whole – more... store by myself and would also monitor the tills if any customers were waiting to be served. I also ensured that I offered assistant to any consumers who asked or looked like they were seeking it. The people I worked with were really welcoming and they explained everything to me. They were understanding that I was new to the organisation and may have been slow due to a lack of experience. However, I felt that the job did not provide me with as many hours as I had liked which was around 8-12 hours a month. I also continued to have my wages taxed which meant that the minimum wage I was already receiving was extremely low and I did not feel that the pay reflected the duties which I carried out at this organisation and therefore gave my letter of resignation. – less

Was a nice place to work with benifits
Sales Assitant (Former Employee), Bedworth – July 2, 2012
Pros: discounts on clothing and shoes to promote fashion.
Cons: weekend hours.
I enjoyed working for Store Twenty One as the Management were very comfortable to work with, i learnt alot with till and cash handling and stock orders.
The hardest part of the job was keeping on track with new arrivals of fashion and to promote these.
The most enjoyable part was meeting people, making them happy with what we had to offer.

Respectful workplace
sales assistant (Former Employee), birmingham – June 20, 2012
During this short part time job, I did general shop work, which included working on the tills most the day, stocking and tidying shelves and general cleaning around the shop. Also, around the time I worked there, the shop was closing down preparing for new ownership; I helped with stock takes and the busy closing down sales. This has improved my knowledge – more... and experience of dealing with the general public, and has improved my interpersonal skills. – less

Hard working but Enjoyable workplace
Sales Assistant/ Third Key Holder (Current Employee), Nailsea, Bristol – May 1, 2012
Pros: currently doing an nvq course in retail skills
Cons: hours and hourly rate
Store twenty one is a hardworking place where you learn new things everyday.
I have gained a lot experience in my third key holder role.
The management is excellent in my store and they maintain the store and staff very well.
The hardest part of the job is the money and hours. I would love to be fulltime there.
The most enjoyable part is the customers – more... and the staff. – less
