Not the best place was not happy there
Customer Service Assistant (Former Employee), Tamworth – May 14, 2013
Pros: the pension scheme, bonuses and discount
Cons: was not given full time when i asked
I helped out where ever needed on each department, shop floor, checkouts, trolleys, warehouse etc.
I did not feel I was given the chance to work to my full potentional.
I feel management passed me over in favour of new comers.
I think I worked well as part of a team.

Ups and Downs
Team Leader (Current Employee), Canterbury – April 10, 2013
Cons: long hours
My view of Sainsbury's is that the good days are really good, everyone working together to provide the service that our customers desire.

But the bad days are really bad, managers not knowing what they are doing. Troubles with the labour budgets.

it is a fun and enjoyable place to work
general assistant (Current Employee), fulham broadway, london – January 29, 2013
Pros: 10 per cent staff discount
Cons: low percentage of increase in salary.
a typical day would start with greetings with the present colleagues. then get the briefings from the manager and then agree to the plan for the day. I have learned a lot of things working here. for example, great customer service, getting along with people both customers and colleagues. the colleagues are like families to me. they are always there – more... to support me and i am always there for them as well. hardest part of the job would be to get unplanned tasks which hampers the routine. the most enjoyable part would be to serve the customers and interact with them. – less

Productive and A Good Place To Work
Sales Assistant (Current Employee), Cambridge – January 10, 2013
My typical day at work consist of unloading deliveries in the morning, stocking the shelfs and serving customers.
My management team is one of the best, they are dedicated and know evrything about the job and what needs to to be done next at all times.
My co-workers are the best part about my current job. without these people to help you and have a – more... laugh the day would be boring. these people make it a good place to work – less

Good major retailer,
Warehouse Assistant (Former Employee), Darlington – November 12, 2012
Pros: uniform, nice canteen, company discount.
Cons: safety, low physical work ethic from dept managers.
Generally speaking one of the best retailers i have worked for, but could improve in certain area's.Sometimes its all about getting stock on the shelves and seem to bypass safety issues in house with regards to empty box's packaging left all over warehouse and a work ethic by a few collegues leaves alot to be disired.

Productive and Enjoyable work place
Sales Assistant (Current Employee), Eltham – August 28, 2012
My typical day at work would be working on the checkouts, either on the tills, self scan or helping out with and queries a customer needs. The most enjoyable part is meeting new people and generally getting on well with co-workers and having fun but being productive at the sanme time. The down fall to the job is meeting a tricky customer and having – more... to deal with them with the best of my ability, trying to keep them happy. – less

Friendly family of work colleagues and amazing customers
Checkout Assistant (Former Employee), Huntingdon – August 1, 2012
I absolutely loved working for Sainsbury's and was sad to leave to start my undergraduate degree.
A typical day involved serving large volumes of customers and meeting a lot of new people.
I learnt how to interact well with people from all walks of life and that i had the confidence to push myself.
The Management were always helpful and kept every team – more... member informed about issues within store.
My co -workers were lovely people and I really felt like part of an amazing work family.
The hardest part of the job was sitting in one place for long periods of time but you get used to it.
The most enjoyable part was definitely striking up relationships with regular customers and making sure their experience whilst shopping in store was enjoyable. – less

Staff work well as a team
Customer services (Current Employee), Stevenage, Magpie Crescent – July 31, 2012
Pros: hour lunch, depending on the hours i'm doing
Cons: horrible hours
My daily role at work is workin on checkouts serving customers through out the day.
When a collegue goes home on Self scan or Kiosk, I take over from them and again serving customers. Making sure they found everything they needed.

There is not any thing really hard about the job, except for when the customers speak rudely.

Great Experience
General Assistant (Former Employee), Lincoln – May 2, 2012
Pros: salary
My typical day at work included replenishment of stock for the shelves, working on the tills and anything else a member of staff wanted me to do. during my time I made some excellent work friends and some friendly customers. From this I learnt how it was to work in a large store that has a high demand for products, my coworkers were extremely helpful, – more... encouraging and supporting of me during my time here. There wasnt a part of the job which I didnt enjoy but I would say the hardest part was leaving. – less

Pros: sale items
Cons: lond hours
Making sure fresh bread is baked and ready to be pub out on shelf. Gained great organisational and planning skills as a team leader. Daily production is the hardest part of the day but also the most fun as u have fun with fellow workers and u work as part of a team.
