A multi layered and multi faceted company across many industrys covering both Defence and Civil programmes.

This was a post covering a short term project requirement for 2 months. I was hired as help for the Procurement Project Manager. Helping to analysis Bills of Materials and expediting and chasing deliveries for the overall aim of building prototype machines before full deployment. All things considered Rolls Royce is a good firm to work for.
There are plenty of opportunities to advance yourself, but if you work on the shop floor it will entail shift work.

Working for Rolls Royce gave me valuable experience that I can now use when I graduate.

Moving and installing workstations and setting up new systems.

Used to work for this company but was made redundant in 2009.
Very varied work with little or no training (have to pick it up yourself).
Learnt a great deal about research and development.

Very responsible position with very little support.

Satisfying what can be achieved, a shame you are not rewarded for hard work and dedication.

A typical day at work varied from order picking to un loading vehicles, computer work, sorting the warehouse out, stock checking. I learnt a new system which was SAP that was installed approx 5 years ago, through this i had to work closely with management who were extreamly helpful and understanding. The hardest part of the job was juggling every day activities to get the targets met as the nature of the business was very demanding. My fourth assignment completed at RR's. Great company! Worked on several different projects in HR, as well as Reward and Recruitment.

Working within Rolls Royce helped me to expand my knowledge and understanding of security, working with a mixture of different companies.

my day began with job allocations then fault finding and repair or replace parts on aero engines then final inspection.I worked with people I could totally rely on which made my job a lot easier,the hardest was learning the thousands of parts which make up an engine which took some time.

Hard working with attention to details at the same time as improving the bigger picture.

Worked within the logistics team in the warehouse supplying material to all parts of the factory.Was put on various courses and achieved my stacker license .The management i worked directly with were very good to work for.I had very good co-workers, over the 31 years i worked with quite a diverse range of people but would say i was lucky that the majority – more... were good to work with.There were no real hardships to the job,and the atmosphere in the factory made the job enjoyable. – less

Many ex military employees makes the environment very calm and focused. Camaraderie is very strong. Professional and goal oriented. Very safe.

This was a Very good job. i loved working for this company it had a very productive out look at buisness and service in general, it was also very well known there for a pleasure to be associated with.

Rolls-Royce has grown as a company in the time that I worked there. A "ship" as big as Rolls-Royce is sometimes hard to turn, but as far as stability and great co-workers, I really appreciated my time there.

I am presently employed at Rolls-Royce trying to cost reduce their existing existing engine models and also new designs that re presently being introduced. My management and co-workers are terrific and I enjiy working here, but since I am not with my family life become difficult.

I am presently looking for emplyment closer to my home on Hilton Head – more... Island, SC. Working in Savannah would be better then living in a hotel. – less
