Worked in the capacities of Country Accountant and Grants Accountant in Plan International up to 25th September 2012.
Country Accountant (a.i) (Former Employee), Plan International, Cameroon Office – October 10, 2012
During the past 3 years I have worked in the capacities of Senior Accountant in respected Organizations. Working as Country Accountant and National Office Accountant in Multinational Organizations like, Plan International and Habitat for Humanity International respectively made me versed with International Accounting Standards. As Accountant on a daily – more... basis, I review payment vouchers for consistency with respect to the quotations on the delivery note, review transactions encoded into the software by my assistant before approval, manage the overall treasury of the organization, prepare financial reports, manage the external audit exercise and follow up the implementation of recommendations by our external auditors. I have managed audits conducted by our external auditors, Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) and also Ernst and Young. The most difficult part of my job is managing the volume of transactions. With a significantly high volume of daily operations, .i.e approving payments to suppliers, managing advances to staff going on mission to the field, reporting to donors based on their time table, effectively closing the month and submitting reports on a timely basis to our Regional Office, processing the payroll and ensuring that staff accounts are credit on time, as Accountant, I find myself with a month fully occupied. To handle this, I prepare a work plan at the start of every month with what needs to be done and deadline. With a work plan, other daily transactions just fit in while the work plan serves a compass to me.
I enjoy most the area of financial reporting. My high proficiency in MS Excel makes me very comfortable playing with data and producing timely and accurate financial reports. – less

Putting children first is a best practice that i am even putting into practice at home. Fellow staff is very supportive and the team spirit is high. I enjoy working with children, as innocent – more... as they are, i have earned their trust and they also enjoy interacting with me. It is a challenge that i can not address all the challenges faced by orphaned and vulnerable children due to inadequate resources. – less
