fun work place
Waitress (Current Employee), castleford Xscape – March 13, 2013
Pros: we get free nandos on are breaks
Cons: we have to do long grueling shifts
A typical day at work is everyone being on the correct stations so the customers are getting the best possible service, you have to interact well with your co workers as communication is the main part of the job. The hardest part of the job is having to pick up the pace from someone working slower than you i,e clearing tables taking orders ect. Because – more... then you could miss out on giving the customers your full attention this normally happens on a busy Friday/Saturday night. The most enjoyable part of my job is the people i work with its very important to get on with your co workers and i am very fortunate we have a close group, everyone gets on so well and it makes my job fun and exciting. – less

Well structured, supportive and progression focused environment.
Staff Trainer (Current Employee), Stockton Heath, Warrington – February 25, 2013
Pros: paid breaks, free food, incentive/reward schemes, team building days.
Cons: late finishes and early starts.
A typical day at work involved cooking and serving food, taking and recording hot and cold food temperatures for legal and health and safety reasons, upholding the company's high standards in many respects to set the example for other staff and increase the general level of service, making an extra effort to give the customer the best experience they – more... can have and resolving customer complaints, picking up the slack of other workers with good grace, deep cleaning various areas of the restaurant and maintaining the company's equipment.

I learnt a lot through Nando's, the staff training course I was sent on opened my eyes to the possibilities for approaching awkward circumstances and ways to present information. Also the values Nando's lay down spoke strongly to me as an individual; Integrity; Pride; Passion; Courage; and Family. I found these to be something I clung to and made doing my job to a high standard much more satisfying.

I never held back when approaching the management team with any productive/constructive feedback but often had to reserve what I said when it came to values not being demonstrated by them.

The hardest part of the job was persevering when no one supported my input which was always ended up being appreciated but the part I most enjoyed was seeing the difference I had brought to the store through the means at my disposal and through supporting and believing in the management. – less

trial shift
trainy (Former Employee), holburn – February 4, 2013
Pros: meal? frendly staff
Cons: hyigene.. a joke. and you are treated has meat for cannon we say in portuguese
I did a trial shift, basicly you work as a pig and don't get paid, they give you a meal, than you wait for a call to see if you were sucessfull and accepted. This was my experience with nandos, and i believe they do this to a lot of over guys, work hard for a few hours and go home with a meal and a little hope that they might call you. You have been – more... advised. – less

Exciting and upbeat environment
Cashier (Former Employee), Sunderland – February 4, 2013
Pros: free chicken!
Cons: lack of hours
I thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Nando's.A typical shift here would be cash handling, serving food, taking orders, cleaning and dealing with customer's queries. I gained alot of Customer Service experience and my confidence grew with every shift with working the till and engaging in conversation with customers. There were a few managers here at – more... Nando's, all were great and helped me greatly to complete my training. I also enjoyed working alongside my co workers as we were all like a family. The atmosphere was always great and I always looked forward coming to work. The hardest part of the job was when the restaurant was extremely busy so I had to stay on top of everything. The easiest part of the job was, of course, the buzz I got when customers were enjoying their Nando's experience and knowing that providing excellent Customer Service can play a big part in someone's time here at Nando's! – less

Dynamic and fun and challenging workplace.
Buddy Trainer (Former Employee), Plymouth Barbican – September 11, 2012
Pros: staff outings and events, meals provided each shift.
Cons: low wages and long, unsociable hours.
Nando's is a fast paced restaurant chain, and over my time there I furthered previously learned skills in people management and after advancing to a role in staff training I also furthered my skills in working as the head of a team.

The job could often be stressful, but working in such an environment taught me a lot about how a business is run, not – more... just a restaurant. I learned about hitting performance targets set by head office such as KPIs, the keeping and maintaining of records and up-keeping the safety and cleanliness of the restaurant as a whole in order to meet these targets.

I also learned skills in staff management and training, as previously mentioned, I advanced to a role in staff training and in such was responsible for welcoming new members to the team and playing an integral role in their training. This involved actual on the job training and also ensuring that they had completed all necessary paperwork, and were rounded and competent members of staff.

The hardest part of the job would come in busy periods (i.e. school holidays/bank holidays/christmas) when targets still had to be met and traqining completed during the busiest periods of restaurant life. However, borne out of these periods was the most enjoyable part of the job, knowing that at the end of a difficult shift we had done the best job we could have. – less

Fun workplace, good benefits
Cashier/Griller (Current Employee), Reading – July 13, 2012
Pros: free food
Cons: poor pay
Whilst the salary is minimum wage, and the tips are poor (to be expected from self-service), the company strives to maintain a good working environment through its 'Nando's Values' scheme.
The staff tend to come from a variety of different backgrounds, making an interesting and more dynamic work environment.
Management tends to be good, but recent economic – more... restraints placed upon restaurant managers means the values tend to subside beneath budgetary measures.
The long hours required to maintain a decent wage tend to undermine the overall enjoyment of the job.
The good food and attempts to sustain an enjoyable workplace are excellent for an entry-level position. – less

Very productive and fun place to work
waitress (Former Employee), Riverside Norwich – May 27, 2012
Pros: free lunches, free cinema tickets
Cons: unsociable hours
A typical day at Nandos would be basic hospitality tasks like re stocking fridges and shelves, cleaning, serving customers etc.. I worked with a fantastic group of people, people commited to provide excellent customer service and an initial aim to provide customer satisfaction.
I learned many skills at nandos which include Book keeping, cashing up, – more... using my social skills to keep customers smiling and keeping customers happy at all times. – less

Great bubbly staff with great experience gained with customers
Cook/Waitress (Former Employee), Melbourne, Vic – September 30, 2012
Pros: best food.
I usually work day shifts, with the best staff, whom were older but great conversationalists. Very busy during the lunch period. Either I will be on cash register, serving customers, cooking or coordinating/sorting out orders for eat in/take-away. All roles were difficult but I am able to work under pressure by staying positive and asking for assistance. – more... I was able to deal with rude/nice customers in a respectful manner.

All my co-workers are such great people, whom I have developed strong, trustworthy relationships. All workers have bubbly, honest and loyal personalities which I strongly get along with!

The hardest part of this job, was dealing with the busy hours. When customer after customer would order such large orders. But always gave out 110% and succeeded.

I loved working at Nando's because of the people but also the amount of experience I gained from working at all different roles. – less

Gerente (Former Employee), London, ENG – January 28, 2013
Pros: refeição na empresa
Cons: nao forneciamos vale-refeicao
– less
