Productive and fun workplace.
Sales Associate (Current Employee), Wayne, NJ – May 7, 2013
Since the Lands' End Shop is currently inside Sears, the hardest part of the job is having to deal with ringing up Sears customers, this at times interferes with Lands' End customers who have been waiting in line or might need help looking for an specific item. There is a lack of communication between the Sears managers and Lands' End's. The company – more... highlights a team type of culture at work, which makes me feel wanted and welcomed most days. There is however, a lack of growth for employees within the company. I, as an employee, am supposed to be reviewed for my work each year and have not been reviewed since the first year of working for the company. No raises! – less

Good pay
Packer (Former Employee), Reedsburg, WI – April 27, 2013
Pros: good pay
Cons: not enough hours at time, hot in summer
A typical day at work was the same thing, I packaged products into boxes. I got along with the co-workers I associated with. The hardest part of the job was, being in a factory setting, getting really hot. The most enjoyable part of the job was I knew how to do it and learned quickly and the pay was also good, when I got hours. I learned to take each – more... day on like a new challenge and conquer it. – less

A company of great people who truly serve the customer.
Vice President (Former Employee), Dodgeville, WI – February 26, 2013
Pros: flexible work environment
Had the privilege of experiencing many new challenges over my time with Lands' End including the growth of the internet channel, the expansion of the retail presence in Sears stores, and growth Internationally. However, the most enjoyable part of my job was the opportunity to work with many highly talented people who either were or are still a part – more... of Lands' End's unique culture. – less

Trust in employees to do best work
Analizer (Former Employee), Reedsburg, WI – February 7, 2013
Pros: snacks, breakfast occasionally supplied, nice perk!
Cons: not full time, only peak season :-(
Great explanation and training, very thourough. I learned about the quality and dedication to customers of Lands End. The most enjoyable was the abitlity to receive discounts on the great products as an employee. Co-workers were very helpful if questions were asked. The hardest part of the job was not blowing paycheck on buying numerous products in – more... catalog! Nice quality products. – less

Overall very nice place to work
Customer Care Specialist (Former Employee), Dodgeville, WI – January 16, 2013
Pros: activity center for employees and on site clinic
A typical day at work would be interesting because you had to be able to switch from one job to another depending on what needed to be accomplished. I learned the returns processing computer systems also learned e-gain. Management was always very nice and ready to work with you if necessary. co-workers were amazing. We were a small group who worked – more... at night so we were like a family. Sometimes customers could be quite nasty and hard to deal with. The most enjoyable part was the diversity of work. – less

Boring but effective
Packer/Shipper (Former Employee), Dodgeville, WI – January 10, 2013
I have had several family members work for Lands' End and tried it out for a seasonal gig while taking a break from school, the training gets you on your feet pretty well and the management is competent. Not especially hard work by any means but not the easiest work either as during the holidays when I worked it's a pretty demanding environment. Have – more... heard too many stories about their recent employee treatment to give them an overwhelming review. – less

Looking for Career Advancement? Don't Look Here.
Planning Assistant (Former Employee), Dodgeville, WI – October 26, 2012
Pros: salary was decent for a small town
Cons: lacking development opportunities, and true leadership
Corporate is an interesting place. The work life balance is great, but unless you are in the cool crowd or have worked there forever, do not expect career advancement. Also, they took away all development opportunities, and there has not been bonuses or pay increases for over two years. The company seems to survive on ego rather then real talent and – more... from an underling prospective seems to lack direction and leadership. – less

Worked hard, good life work balance.
Associate Manager (Former Employee), Illinois – October 17, 2012
Pros: benefits. hours were tolerable for retail.
Cons: male dominated upper management who didn't like to promote women or minorities..
Managed children's clothing department. Responsible for all merchandising as higher management did not have any experience at it. Customer service was very important and everything is guaranteed. period. sort. of. People abused this policy profusely. It became increasingly hard to please them, and if they did not get what they wanted (or what they thought – more... they wanted or what they thought they were entitled to...) they liked to complain. Met alot of great people there and made some great friends. Benefits were decent-pay was low. – less

Management does not care about employees.
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Batavia, OH – October 16, 2012
Employees are viewed as just another number that can be easily replaced. They dont take the time to listen to the demands or concerns of the employees. You are overworked and underpaid.

Consultative sales associate (Current Employee), Tukwila, WA – October 11, 2012
Pros: friendly customers, beautiful product line
Cons: scarce hours, too much competition
Your main focus working for Lands' End is of course, the customer. It's your job to help them zero in on the perfect new piece for their wardrobe. The most difficult part is driving sales; if you don't reach your sales goal, your store isn't going to break even. Hours may be cut, as they were at my store. Regardless of this, customers are often familiar – more... with the brand, and many are repeat customers. – less
