Great Workplace
Assistant Chef (Working Experience) (Former Employee), Hyde's Park, London – September 22, 2012
Pros: free lunches
Cons: long hours
There's a lot of things I've learnt from the Chefs such as preparing food. They also decorate the Restaurant place of the Hotel. The co-workers in the Kitchen are all fast workers and hard workers. The most enjoyable part of the Job for me is mostly everything. I don't really find anything hard on the job when assisting the Chefs.

A great place to work
Test analyst (Current Employee), Burckinhamshire – September 8, 2012
InterContinental Hotels Group is a great place to exhibit ones potentiality, In my department every test analyst were given the opportunity to show the skill we possess, we worked as a team and we were able to achieve our objectives ( no defects goes unnoticed).
I was able to maintain a good relationship with the developers, Business analyst, technical – more... analyst, the project manager and the test lead.
I learned a lot in IHG, part of which are
- how to exercise dialogue to resolve crisis
- Diplomatic approach in getting the job done
- Chasing fixer without any misunderstanding
- Production of accurate test estimate
- going extra mile for your team, your company in order to get the job done at the time allotted time.

The challenging part of the job is getting the accurate test estimate but thanks to my test manager, test estimate is no more a problem to me.

The most enjoyable part of the job is when no defect is found during Regression test. – less

kids club attendant (Former Employee), Intecontinental Malta – May 4, 2012
Pros: birthday gifts and barbeques
Cons: depressing environment and un planned staffing
I find that even though most of the staff were really great my senior manager was not brilliant. I also found that the environment that we had to work in and therefore where the children had to stay was completely unsuitable.

Demi Chef De Partie (Current Employee), Dubai, United Arab Emirates – April 16, 2013
Pros: free accommodation, free transportation, free food, free medical
Cons: short break, lack of staff, less salary
I`m the one in charge in the pastry kitchen which is everyday i`m handling all the function including the coffee break, lunch, dinner, cocktails, etc.i`m also doing the A la carte dessert of each outlets and do the ordering thru FBM. Working in the kitchen i`v learned a lot of things not only about the dessert, i`eve learned how to work with the different – more... nationality,to be more flexible,to be more strong,to be more responsible and to win. Most of the management is not good because sometimes they don't know how to listen to their staff they are not aware in the operation time but there is one chef that who appreciate his staff it means he knows his staff.Hardest part of my job is long hours duty because were lack of staff and the people whose not working only talking, the most enjoyable part of my job is doing production and working with freedom and love. – less

Great Job to Begin With...
Reservation Agent (Current Employee), Salt Lake City, UT – April 16, 2013
Pros: flexible, eco-friendly, benefits
Cons: resourcing each hotels
This company has taught me to become more organize with the guest reservations, and to help the guest find the best hotel for them to stay, also help them understand the value and qualities to each 1,000 plus properties. The work atmosphere is great, very eco-friendly, clean, and the people I work with are friendly, and very polite to one another. When – more... I first got hired, I didn't have sales experience, it was hard at first, I have to sale hotels of why this property will work for them, trying to sound confidence when I don't know the answer, as a central reservation, its hard to sale the hotel when you don't live where you say you are. Once I got use to it, I become a better sales person and more confidence to my resource, thanks to my manager. – less

IHG puts its people first
Guest Relations Expert (Current Employee), North America – March 5, 2013
Pros: great culture
Cons: the recession hit hotels hard but hospitality is on a comeback.
Intercontinental Hotels strongly cares about developing people to become better in their lives. From Health and Wellness initiatives, to growth through learning and development IHG gives the avenues for people to make the most out of their lives.

Hotel work is hard work. Also to get the most out of the company you have to be a team player and be willing – more... to be patient to advance. Also you have to be free to relocate. – less

Challenging but Productive
Fulfillment Executive (AMER) (Current Employee), Makati, P00 – February 27, 2013
Pros: food allowance / business travels
You will be in front of the computer the whole shift, but then you get to talk to the Account Owners, Key Account Directors and Third Part Agencies you support in processing Group request / Groups and Meetings and Tour Series on the Leisure and Government segment of the IHG Americas Sales.

You will learn everyday, new things on the system, with the – more... accounts and everyone is professional with their jobs. We help each other every time as needed.

The hardest part is the amount of work load, I like to be challenged, but sometime the 9 hour daily shift is not enough specially on RFP season and every month end when we do our end of the month reports.

The most enjoyable part of the job is you get the chance to participate on Business Meetings on different locations. – less
