ok company...lousy managers
warehouse (Former Employee), leduc, alberta – May 7, 2013
Pros: nothing
Cons: everything
If you like working your butt off all day and getting no credit and nothing but grief from managers then this is the company for you.

Front end managers don't work in the warehouse but love to criticize you for every little thing they can think of.

I'm leaving, like so many others. Stay away!

MANAGEMENT (Former Employee), STAFFORD, TX – April 30, 2013
Pros: good benefits
Cons: everything else
UNLESS YOU ARE RIGHT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL AND DONT WANT TO LEAVE THAT ATMOSPHERE. OR IF YOU HAVE A FRIEND, RELATIVE, ETC THAT WORKS HERE, IF NOT, YOU ARE OVERWORKED, UNDERPAID AND NOT GOING ANYWHERE WITH THIS COMPANY. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNFAIR. THE STAFFORD LOCATION SHOULD BE FAMILY OWNED & OPERATED. I HOPE THE OTHER FORUM LOCATIONS ARE NOT RAN THE – more... WAY THIS ONE IS. EMPLOYEES WILL NOT SPEAK THEIR MIND OF THE RIDICULOUS SITUATIONS THAT GO ON HERE, FOR FEAR OF THEIR JOB, SAD SITUATION – less

it is a very productive company with good moral and management
warehouse (Current Employee), leduc – April 17, 2013
the new warehouse management is extremely knowledgeable and proves that a company can make it to the top with good management that guides his team players in the right direction with organization and respect. you feel like family working towards a goal not just another numbered employee

Feddup2here – 25 April 2013

its only because Houston has looked into complaints, higher ups in front office are running scared and on their best behavior now. Nothing but polite now! About time! Fifth manager in one year!

Feddup2here – 30 April 2013

yes, the manager is doing well. He's the 5th person that's been offered the job in less than a year. The difference is apparently is upper management is finally behaving themselves and letting us work the warehouse with constant interference. Its only because Houston head office finally got involved and addresseed all the complaints from staff about their poor treatment of employees. Turnover is still very high. Wait and see what happens.

Dontbeleiveit – 01 May 2013

I am pretty sure this is HR trying to make the company look better. I currently work here (trying to find another job) and NO ONE feels that way. It is the most miserable place I have ever worked and the upper management is being SO fake. They really dont care about you but are concerned for their own job only. TERRIBLE management, TERRIBLE atmosphere. Run run away.

Pros: free coffee
Cons: forced long hours heavy work duites. people treated badly
Forum Energy is actually a good company, lots of career potential.
Salaries could be better, benefits are ok.

Problem is work conditions not good. Poor morale. High Turnover. Not nice to staff. Everyone is sick of this place, Staff complaints go unanswered.

not a good place to work leduc managers are bad
laborer (Current Employee), leduc office – April 5, 2013
Pros: talk about great advancement with company
Cons: none of the advancement talk is true.
I've been here for only a few weeks and I can see why people are so unahappy. I have heard so many stories about poor treatment from managers to staff and former staff and it is true, everything from verbal and even physical abuse, then cover it up.

local operation manager is related to branch manager so he gets away with abusive behaviour/belittles – more... staff and backtracks on promises. Changes work duties and schedule at last minute and expects staff to work all the time/weekends/overtime, if not they berate them and threaten to fire.

When asking him a question, spends one minute answering the question and 20 minutes trying to change the subject...babbles.

I'm looking for another job asap. Turnover is so high. All employees are not happy! – less

Company with a positive outlook
HR (Current Employee), Houston, TX – April 3, 2013
Pros: work environment, smart leaders
Cons: benefits are good, but could be better
Forum is a young company defining it's own culture. My experiences have been very positive. The management team is experienced and smart and look for best possible outcomes. That said, things change more here than in a bigger, more established company, but that is ok, as the company is finding it's own way and establishing best practices.

The pay is – more... good and the benefits are mostly competitive. Forum competes with much bigger companies for employees and sometimes loses to bigger companies due to their enhanced benefits.

Overall, I am very happy to be an employee of Forum and most definitely recommend Forum as a great place to work. – less

everything you hate in a job!!!
machinist (Current Employee), leduc – March 21, 2013
Pros: burnt over cooked burgers
Cons: wage, organization, reviews, floor space, conversations, meetings, safety, and everything else u can think of
Ur day starts by punching in, waiting for management to show up an hour later. Get starred at like ur an idiot when u ask whats next or what do you want me to do....or my favorite how do i do this. Go ask someone else cuz they dont know. Management has always been the issue here and always will be. With in the company from hr to gm to production manager – more... you get nothing from them, they treat u like a bottomfeeder. Everything is always rush rush rush and always late. Ancient tooling and machines, constantly breaking down or blowing up. Management only wants whats best for stockholders and their bonuses. – less

BAD PLACE TO WORK, MANAGEMENT AND WORK CONDITIONS VERY VERY BAD
LABOURER (Former Employee), LEDUC – March 20, 2013
Pros: could be a good training experience if treated better
Cons: managers..they are definately the problem. needs overhauling
Been working here for less than 3 months, finally had enough and quit. Management does not listen, and certainly does not care about employee concerns., your here to do as your told, not think! People call him the "little man" hiding under Pop's shadow!

Work load to heavy, not enough time to complete duties, Told to work overtime each day, come in – more... on days off. Safety is an issue. Management is very rude to employees. No one enjoys working here. Staff turnover is very high. Everyone complains about poor treatment which is why so many new people, no one stays long. always short staffed. – less

Overall a Great Company to Work for
Clerical (Current Employee), Broussard, LA – March 8, 2013
Company is growing fast and changes are painful as with any company. Change is never easy unless all employees buy in. Management is fair, but sometimes possibly hard to get direct answers. Company has made a great effort to stay competitive with the market with benefits and compensation. I’ve had heart ache myself but stuck it out. I’ve seen many employees – more... leave and swore they would never work here again only to call back or reapply within 6 month to 1 year later. Hummm, I would say it’s a pretty good company to work for if you’re up for the challenge. – less

don't waste your time with this company...management is awful
DISTRIBUTION..DM (Former Employee), Leduc, Alberta – March 6, 2013
Cons: everything about management
Everything that is said about management is true. They are very bad and treat staff like garbage. Threats and Abuse is prevelant!

Its not due to head office in Houston. They are not aware of what is going on up in Alberta. Forum bought a company called "
Gauge Plus", a year ago. That is where the current managers came from, contains alot of relatives – more... including inlaws. They have the same mentality as if they were running the company as their own, which is why they treat staff the way they do.

I worked for them in 2012 for 4 months, 75th ave office talks x talks x talks x talks Forum policy, respect and career promotion however the opposite is true, any staff feedback or input is quickly blown off. If you are not in line management will become beligerant and treat you like garbage, abusive, which explains the high turnover. Talk about Orangized Labour groups have occurred. {unionizing]

I had enough and left, they've had 3 or 4 people in my position in since. Less than one year. Other locations under they're control having the same problem. Very negative atmosphere!

Patronage appointments and special treatment for family is rampant at this location. Someone in Houston needs to step up and take a look as to why the turnover is sooo bad. Office Management is the reason.

HOUSTON PERSONNEL, You need to do something if you want this to stop! – less

Read these reviews before to applying to this company!!
Accountant (Former Employee), Leduc – February 27, 2013
Pros: nothing
Cons: everything
The biggest problem in this company is the Management. They do not know how to treat their employees and their bosses are in Houston so they get away with being lazy and delegating their work to lower staff.

Employees are completely mistreated in this company and Management/HR will lie to your face to try to go out of their way to make you miserable. – more... They tried to steal money from my last pay check when I told them I was leaving and I had to threaten to contact Alberta Employment Standards in order for them to back down.

There are so many other oil and gas companies that will give you a much better experience. There is an overall very negative atmosphere at this company. Better to go ANYWHERE else. – less

Cons: operations management is very bad, high turnover, staff treated badly. family members get perks.
long hours, told to put in overtime everyday. Very unorganized. Very negative working environment. No one likes they're job.

Management treats staff like garbage, Very rude to staff. won't listen to staff concerns, suggestions to make workplace better.

Operations- management- extremely volitile. Talks down to staff, condesending, threatens to terminate – more... staff if they disagree with management. Volitile.

Extremely high turnover, lots of relatives working at facility. Father, Son, daughter and common law husband work together, special treatment!

Unfair workplace, management gangs up on others, lack of maturity. People go on breaks, don't come back. Incredibly high turnover – less

leduc facility
shop worker (Former Employee), leduc, alberta – January 30, 2013
Bad place to work. High turnover. Claims to be a career oriented facility, however most have only been there a few weeks if not months.

Alot of family working there. Privaleged few! Verbal abuse to staff and extremely volitile working environment.

Claims to be team oriented environment, opposite is true. Management has unrealistic expectations for – more... staff to complete tasks.

Hardest part of the job, getting management to listen and act on your concerns. Threats of termination.

Most enjoyable part of the job. Finding other employment leads.

don't waste your time, unless your desperate, as they are. – less

Good not Great
Quality Supervisor (Current Employee), Davis Oklahoma – August 27, 2012
Pros: family friendly, challenging
Cons: compensation was not adequate
Forum Energy Technologies is a good place to work. Especially if you can make it to the upper salary tear of the organization. A typical work day begins with a safety meeting and a short discussion amongst supervisors and management about the days activities. Depending on the day of the week there is either a safety committee meeting or a production – more... meeting at 8:30am for supervisors and managers. My co-workers were all good people and were nice enough. The hardest part of my particular job was managing personnel and prioritizing tasks to complete. The most enjoyable part of my job was getting to create policies. The company is so young that I was actually creating policies that will probably be used for decades to come, which is kind of cool.Their management is well compensated and have very flexible working hours with little deadlines to meet. As a mid-level, multi-site superivisor I had a taste of both worlds. I started out on the floor so I got to see what it was like for the everyday workers, (not exactly a dream job). However, as I progressed through the ranks the job and working conditions got better by miles every ring of the latter. Sadly, their compensation for those who achieve is non-existent. I'm not sure if it is corporate or just management, but the whole promotion process takes months to complete and always after the responsibility of the new position has been assumed. To make matters worse the increase in salary for the new position is not much more than what the old salary at the lower level was. Many employees know this and good, talented employees will, in many cases, pass on a promotion because they know that it will include much more work for not much more money. All that aside, it is a young and growing company and there is a good chance that this compensation sluggishness will abate if the recession ever ends and once they become more experienced using their own promotion systems. – less

Hard place to work
Another chump (Current Employee), Elmore City – July 19, 2012
Pros: lots of things to work on morale.
Cons: highschool atmosphere.
Lots of wishy washy people there. If your good at the game of sucking up, you will succeed. If your a hard worker and keep your head down and do your job, you will never make it there.
