Crew Member (Former Employee) –  United Kingdom5 October 2017
Working as part of the Lauder group is amazing! The perks of the job are fantastic.
Working for smashbox Cosmetics.... not so much. The brand itself is great - training is always well worth the travel. The make up is amazing.
The structure of the brand itself is not good at all - the support from the area management is so poor. You’ve basically put in boots and forgotten about, whilst the rest of the Lauder brand are properly supported, structured and professional.
Pros
Discount is great
Cons
No support from management

I have had a fantastic time working with Estée Lauder, it's a brilliant company to start your beauty career with. I have had so much fun working for such a high end premium brand, however I do feel a little more support can be given for development.

great place to work
Business Manager (Former Employee) –  Birmingham, West Midlands9 August 2017
This job consist of house keeping, consumer experience, CRM, building new potential relationship whilst maintaining existing, business development, business analysing, target driven, adhering to brand focus, briefing the team, coaching team, stock management to be kept on top and visual merchandising guidelines.

You work closely with the area manager to make sure your account is operating to meet set targets and drive commercial awareness. You will get regular visits from head office all over the world such as USA, Europe, China so its important to keep on top of the account, the team and know the business inside out. It is also a pleasure when you get to meet the visitors as it makes you feel you are valued and your opinion matters to them so they can understand how well the front line operation is working reflecting their strategies. You also have to make sure you adhere to the store and department manager to make sure you have building that relationship with them to get support.

Workplace culture is great, really enjoyed it as you meet great people along the journey and even though there are competitors from other stores, its all about working together as a big team in the city so the brand overall does not lose to an outside competitor. You drive the consumer to your brand only or sister brands if needed.

Hardest part of the job is when your a manager, it is hard to satisfy everyone's needs. You must make sure you are on top of it with product knowledge, brand guidelines and coaching your team. Not every team member can be perfect when they begin. You have to
more... work every Saturday as you are the key driver of the business and it isn't a 9-5 job. You must be flexiable and passionate to drive your business to its best.

The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to make "every women look and feel beautiful" which is a mission of the late Estee Lauder herself when she first began her company and being able to give a high touch experience to every consumer that walks through the door whether they are new, passing by or regular return consumers. You meet some amazing people everyday and its about being consumer inspired, you build relationships with them and its nice when they purposely come to see you again for advice and know you by name. You know you have done your job and its a great feeling when that happens.

It's stressful at first especially for someone who doesn't know everything about the products, but after a while it's great for gaining customer experience and building confidence in a busy but exciting working environment.

Sales Agent (Former Employee) –  Ilfov20 July 2017
A day at work would consist of making sure the products are on the shelf, nice and dust free. Also you have to help de clients with picking the right type of makeup, skincare or fragances. Upselling and increasing sales is a must, but you get trained for it and get to try the products as well.

Varying shifts, job role encompassed drawing customers in, informing them about products they have or were interested in. Helping guide customers to how to us beauty and skin care and other products (e.g. brushes). The main part of the job was selling and meeting targets, also being able to take part in global scale company events.

The work environment in Debenhams and Lauder was very enjoyable, the staff force was friendly and made the environment relaxed whilst still pressured enough to thrive successfully.

Engage and build customer relationships. Promote and sell products. Carrying out client skin consultations and makeovers. Setting up in-store events to promote and generate more sales.

Learn't new makeup skills also about brands products.

Lovely company to work for and quite laid back.

The most challenging part of the job is during quiet periods of trade, so it's important to find other ways to generate money for the business so that targets are met.

The pro's of this job is you get lots of freebies and training.
