Creating Better Futures (CBF) is a small Christian charity that helps to educate and empower orphans, vulnerable children and their communities in Zimbabwe. We support the children to go to school, receive food at school, basic medical care and benefit from community development projects.
Our work is inspired by the success of child sponsorship. Our CEO and co-founder, who was born and raised in Zimbabwe, received the life-changing opportunity to go to high school and university in the UK. Education changed one life and now changes the lives of other children living in abject poverty.
The children we help may have lost one or both parents to AIDS/HIV, may have had a difficult childhood or faced extreme challenges that hamper their access to education. We believe that education is the key out of poverty. For as little as 50 pence a day (£15 a month) a child can go to school, receive school uniform, stationery, basic school meals and medical care where required.
Together with friends from Reading Family Church, the Rotary Clubs of District 1090, community groups, churches, supporters and volunteers; we are creating better futures, one child at a time. We are a Christian organisation led by our passion to reach out and help those in need, regardless of their faith, beliefs or background.
We have a dedicated team of volunteers and supporters that help to raise funds for grassroots educational and community development projects in Zimbabwe. We offer flexible opportunities to get involved: you can volunteer, donate or fundraise from home (online), attend our events or organise your own fundraising events with support from our charity.
