Bar Team Member (Former Employee), Freebridge Farm, King's Lynn – March 12, 2013
Pros: different variety of customers each day.
My job involves serving and dealing with customers on a daily basis which includes good observational skills to ascertain what they may require before they ask, (where possible). By using the touch-screen till system it enables us to place orders, amend stock levels and collate data throughout in real time allowing the structure and function of the – more... business to be up to date at given times. Although the system is fairly complicated I spent extra time initially to ensure I fully understood the different aspects of the system to help both myself perform my job and to provide a seamless service for the customer. Greeting customers with a friendly smile as they first enter is something I take pride in and enables me to ask if I can be of service. I am then more in tune to cater for their needs, allowing the kitchen to also function in a timely manner at the same time preventing backing up of food orders. I will deliver the drinks order myself to their table again ensuring they have everything they need to enjoy their experience whilst within our care. I deal with payments directly with the customers and am always courteous and polite checking the bill, payment and change given to be correct during the transaction. My job also consists of many cleaning operations such as a ‘deep clean’ which has to be completed by the member of staff on the later shift. This also means I will set up the bar and bar area ready for the next day. I have other responsibilities such as ensuring the customers are satisfied as they leave and also to inform them about any offers available. My shifts vary within two patterns, 12pm until 9pm and from 5pm up until closing time, (leaving around 11pm). – less
Duty Manager (Current Employee), Newhaven East Sussex – September 18, 2012
Pros: 2 meals for £10
Cons: long hours
A standard day at work would include alot of organisation and running around to ensure that organisation was met. I have learned alot from my current job including people management, stock intake and ordering, people pleasing and customer satisfaction. the management team are billiant and cater to thier employees needs with great dedication. the hardest – more... part of the job is when the business is at peak hours and there is not enough man power to deal with the customer demand. the most enjoyable part of the jon is when i see every guest leave the building happy and knowing i helped put that smile on thier face. – less
