As i was only an agency worker we did not get bonuses and pension benefits and not a secure enough job as we only get three months contract at a time. You will then have to wait three days until your contract is up before they tell you that you have another three month contract so it is hard to plan your life ahead.

My job was to make the scientist work easier, assisting them. Preparing ordering equipment, consumables when needed and when required. My day was making sure all medias were well stocked Laundry was sent out organizing, making sure all PAT testing was up to date. I enjoyed my job because I helped and it made the Lab staff work much easier, A typical – more... day was first looking on the white board for request and sorting out which one is the most argent. then sorting out all clinical waste ready for collection. all consumables were ordered on the PC with suppliers and SOP looking for cheaper Items. – less

Good place to work with excellent work ethics but with a lot of job losses at the moment.

I was able to acquire many skills working under the sales division at AstraZeneca. Acquired allot of business contacts, as one lead me to another job. wonderful company.

Real Jerk of a manager will not support you in your selling efforts. the only drug they have left in cns is generic and causes diabetes. Do not go there

For years I've worked at AZ, however there always seems to be heads rolling everywhere, layoffs every year. People who do not perform stay around for years, it is very upsetting to see people who don't perform, stay around and continue the behaviour, while others perform and do not seem to be rewarded.

I like the pay, benefits and products but the company is shakey. The managment of Fort Worth has changed a few hands but are still not good. I liked working for the company until I was laid off and they are still laying people off almost a year later.
The managers are terrible and not people oriented; they are always training and testing. I didn't like – more... the attitudes of management. I wish they didn't let go of so may people and then turn around and rehire all new people on contracts.
I think they need some new managers and not necessarily new reps. The problem is with management. – less

Then this is your place to work! Compensation is good, work/life balance, flex time. My group found it difficult to advance, but it hasn't exactly been the climate for that anyway, what with holding your breath every year when massive layoffs are announced.

Many opportunities to learn and grow. I work with a wonderful group of Admins we share and work well together. The hardest part of the job is working with Vista.

AZ has a good core culture and great people. It simply has lacked strong and effective leadership at the top and in turn has not mitigated its patent cliff as well as it potentially could have done. That being said, pay and benefits are outstanding and people work united in achieving business results and objectives.

Great company and great people! I always had wonderful managers throughout my career. My co-workers were always top notch!
