Not one day was ever the same
Corporate Receptionist (Former Employee), London Fenchurch Street – February 6, 2013
Pros: close to where i lived, accessible to all shops and facillities.
I worked for Office Concierge who found the position at AEGON. I truly loved working here. I was able to put my many skills into practice and keep the reception desk running effectivley all day. My Office Manager was a lovely waram peron and was very knowlegble in the role that I had undertaken. The staff were all very welcoming and I had a very good – more... relationshiip with the senior executives.
I wouldn't say that there was a hardest part of the job. The most enjoyable part of my job was meeting the different people everyday from the postman to the clients. – less

Informal and relaxed but focused on results
Dedicated Account Support (Former Employee), Guikdford – August 9, 2012
Pros: lvs, good staff care in general.
Cons: travel
Usual 9-5 with some days more hectic than others.
Worked on a team basis which meant you helped each ohter and picked up knowledge on products you may not have dealt with previously.
Co-workers really friendly and accomodating and v good management team.
Hardest days when part-time staff were off so sometimes under more pressure to get work done.
Most – more... enjoyable part was on Fridays with dress down and relaxed atmosphere. – less

Great Place to Work
Benefit Representative-40 hrs week (Former Employee), Cedar Rapids, IA – March 8, 2013
Pros: compensation and culture/values
Cons: it's so big-easy to get lost in the crowd
I was a CSR in new business w/Transamerica and even though I was fired for attendance issues which were personal I still say AEGON was great. They have good compensation and benefits with healthy raises. Their culture and values are positive and management is good. They promote many programs for a healthy work/life balance.

Sarbanes Oxley implementation success
Transamerica Worksite Marketing (Former Employee), Little Rock, AR – February 5, 2013
Pros: great team of workers and managers that understood compliance and helped make it a success.
Cons: there were no cons, great team and company.
Compliancew review of business processes (accounting routines) to ensure all controls were in place. Ensure each quarter/year end the proper reporting certifications were completed and published. Worked with managers to eliminate any financial weaknesses and put proper controls in place.

Great management team that worked hard to ensure all Compliance – more... issues were settled for success of the business. – less

Call Center
Licensed Insurance Agent (Former Employee), Plano, TX – November 7, 2012
Pros: benefits
Cons: plenty
This company is under the umbrella of Transamerica life and protection. It's a call center that takes inbound calls for upset customers. It partners with fortune 500 credit companies that offer accidental death and dismemberment policies. The challenging part of this job was working with customers that claimed they had no idea of purchasing the policy – more... until it was billed to their credit card. The positive side was when the customer would agree to continue coverage once it was explained and they understood what they had and would purchase additional coverages. – less

Job Security with little room for advancement
Post Issue Processing Specialist (Current Employee), Cedar Rapids, IA – October 21, 2012
Pros: job security
Cons: work/life balance
Aegon overall has been a good place to work. I took advantage of the tuition reimbursement program and got my Bachelors degree from Mt Mercy University however it has not helped me to advance or get any additional opportunities with in the company.
The health benefits are changing in 2013 to a HSA only. These seem to be fine if you are healthy but the – more... up front cost will be higher and the axiety of "what if" will be hanging over me.
Also in the last 4-5 years the work/life balance at Aegon has really gone down hill. The amount of overtime mandated/requested is getting out of control and now that I have a one year old son at home I just can't give them the amount of overtime they are looking for. – less

Sales Representative (Former Employee), Plano Texas – September 4, 2012
I worked in an inbound call center where I answered incoming calls from customers about products and services and policies. The one thing I learned in working in call center is that you have to show patience.

Good pay but impossible workload
Testing Analyst (Former Employee), Cefar Rapids, IA – June 28, 2012
Pros: pay
Cons: just about everything else
Too few employees to do the job timely and effectively. Absolutely no work / life balance. Expectations were VERY high, if not impossible. Shipped jobs offshore rather than keeping employees in the US. Bottom line, lots of work with little job security. Pass this company up unless you have absolutely no social life!

Benhere – 11 July 2012

Very low morale. Employee motivation is driven on fear of job loss. Very little promotion from within. Little or no appreciation of accomplishments. Integrity Education is promoted but not practiced. Pay is adequate if you can withstand the stress.

Large company, excellent career and professional exposure
Senior Accountant (Former Employee), Louisville, KY – April 5, 2012
Dynamic workload ~ added tremendous value to my career and professional career

Great compensation benefits - with annual bounus and annual raises

Little if any balance on work/life. Expectations were HIGH with no additional compensation.

Management was not good about fostering the growth of employees. Few opportunities to grow within the company.

Jonge en dynamische onderneming met goede werksfeer
klantcontact specialist (Former Employee), Den Haag – January 23, 2013
Pros: collega's
– less

Administratief medewerkster (Former Employee), Den Haag – January 22, 2013
Ik heb met veel plezier bij Aegon gewerkt. Ik heb goed met stress om leren gaan. Met mijn collega's kon ik goed overweg.
Het moeilijkste vond ik het hoge tempo van de vele wetwijzigingen.
