Never work for this unorganised, unstructured Company
N/A (Former Employee), Scotland – September 16, 2012
Cons: too many to list
Management standards are appalling, inclusive of regional Managers. Owners do not invest in people or product. Policies and SOP's are all in place but never used. Can only be described as a shambles of a company. To give you an example. They use Rota Horizon but no longer pay any company to maintain it, they just utilise the software and when it crashes – more... 2 weeks to get it fixed!! Another reporting system for utilities reporting did not get paid for 12 months so no support from them either. Supplier accounts get put on hold every month as bills take up to 6 months to be paid. Across all departments! Chefs had to go to Asda!!! To try and perform well with daily struggles that would be easily rectified if there was any sort of co-ordination. No work life balance and no credit or financial reward for good performance. Bonus targets were exceeded only to be told there was no money to pay them. Currently having to seek legal advice......

Would recommend never working for this company. By far the worst of all bigger Hotel chains and I have worked for Hilton, Marriot and Rezidor as a Senior Manager.

This company has numerous unfair dismissal tribunals ongoing (allegedly) Avoid avoid avoid – less

Fun Work place with good people.
AP rep (Former Employee), Carrollton, TX – April 11, 2013
Accor was a good place to work and I had an overall good time there. I was blessed to work with a great group of people most of the time I was there. The values of the company do seem to be focused on the employees as well as the customers equally. Great atmosphere with a good break room and their own cafe. Over all I would say Accor was a great part – more... of my life and it was just time to move on. – less

Typical Work Day
General Manager (Current Employee), Atlanta, GA – March 19, 2013
Pros: helping the guest
Cons: long hours/poor quality of life
A typical day in hospitality management often consists of maintaining a environment that is a pleasant experience for the guest or potiental guests by managing many employees simultaneously. Work begins fairly early in the morning, often before the location opens, and an 7am- to 8pm-. General Manager's handle a wide variety of routine tasks, such as – more... writing reports; supervising employees; managing cash; ordering supplies; handling schedules, payroll, and marketing/sales and promotional roll-outs; and securing the property upon closing. In addition, a manager can expect to deal with guest complaints, employee work delegation, staff shortages, equipment failures and other unexpected things that occur in the hospitality industry. On average, managers may work as many as 50 or more hours per week. – less

International beckground and many International customers from all over the world: Canada, United States and European Union, Asia as well.
Receptionist/Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Bratislava – August 30, 2012
Pros: free lunches, breakfasts and dinners.
Cons: no possibility to work while sitting, i had to stand 8-10 ours a day.
The typical day at work was really interesting, I used to meet the customers from all over the world and communicate with them. I have learned many important skills, such as time management, organisational skills, responsability, working with cashbox, prepare invoices, check-in, chek-out, fluent conversation in english and then switching to french. – more... I was part of the team and we used to cooperate with each other very well. the hardest part of the job was, that we were supposed to stand behind the front dest for 8 to10 hours in high heels. The most enjoyable part of the job was the international atmosphere and customers who were really nice. – less
